EASY MARSHMALLOW CONES

Whip up these classic party treats ready for your next celebration.

INGREDIENTS
CLASSIC MARSHMALLOW MIX
1 CUP WATER
FLAT BOTTOM ICE CREAM CONES

SPRINKLES

FOOD COLOURING (optional)

LOLLIES (to put inside the cones)

ELECTRIC MIXER (HAND MIXER OR STAND MIXER)

PIPING BAGS (optional)

  1. Combine marshmallow mix and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Over low heat hold mixture at a gentle simmer for 10 minutes. Set a timer.
  3. Transfer mixer to the stand mixer bowl (or large bowl that you will whip mixture in with electric hand mixer). Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. While the mixture is cooling, lay out the cones in a tray or flat bottom tuppaware container to hold stable while you pipe in marshmallow.          Place a few lollies in each cone. This will weigh down the cones to stand them up when serving.
  5. Once cooled slightly, whip the marshmallow mix on high setting for 10 minutes or until mixture is fluffy and has stiff peaks. Set a timer.
  6. If you would like to colour the marshmallow, add a small amount of colour and mix well.
  7. Spoon whipped marshmallow into a large piping bag. *See Tip
  8. Once full, twist the the end of the piping bag to seal and hold tight.
  9. Pipe marshmallow into the cones slowly by applying pressure to the bag.    If you are not using a piping bag, spoon the fluffy marshmallow directly into the cones.
  10. Add some sprinkles to each cone while the marshmallow is wet.

Tips:

* The easiest way to fill a piping bag is to stand the empty piping bag into a large tumbler / drinking glass. Fold the bag over the edge of the glass to hold it open. You can then easily spoon the mixture into the bag. Once full, twist the the end of the piping bag to seal and hold tight.
